Big Time Race: Big Brown Vs. Curlin (II)

It could have been the greatest race of the year, and possibly one of the greatest ever.

Two of the industries most dominating athletes racing against each other in a heavy weight battle not unlike Ali vs. Frasier, Magic vs. Bird, or Affirmed vs. Alydar during the 1978 Belmont Stakes.

Stop the presses!

Jess Jackson made it official today announcing that his horse Curlin will race the Woodward Handicap at Saratoga on August 30th. The announcement squashed almost any chance Curlin will face off against Big Brown this year.

Jackson has told the media he does not want Curlin racing on the new surface at Santa Anita Park. Santa Anita Park could have been the perfect solution for the big show down against Big Brown.

IEAH Stables, majority owner of Big Brown has announced that the Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner will race the Breeders Cup Classic.

Horse racing enthusiast world wide want to see this match up. After Big Brown's loud mouth trainer Rick Dutrow said "we're way better than Curlin." it's a must!

Other scenarios could still pan out to see the young Triple Crown winner against the best horse in the world race.

Unfortunately, the clock is running out on 2008 and this dream match-up.
