The Preakness Stakes Takes on Big Brown.

Big Brown came from behind to beat the filly Eight Belles by 4 3/4 lengths to remain undefeated and the winner of this year's Kentucky Derby. Sadly, Eight Belles who ran a fantastic race had fallen to the track and later had to be euthanized.

Big Brown will now face the second leg of this year's Triple Crown at the 133rd Preakness Stakes in Maryland. The 3-year-old has a chance to become the first Triple Crown champion since Affirmed in 1978. His trainer, Richard Dutrow is from the Maryland area saying, "I like our chances because we have the best horse, I am going to see a bunch of friends but I am going there with a horse that can win the race."

Big Brown looks like an easy favorite due to a major lack of rivals in this year's second leg of the Triple Crown, but other athletes like Todd Pletcher's Behindatthebar, and dark horse Hey Byrn will give the undefeated colt a run for "the old hilltop". El Gato Mato will not race The Preakness further adding and seemingly unfair advantage to Big Brown.

This year's 133rd Preakness Stakes and the second leg of the Triple Crown are on May 17th, 2008.
