NHL's Avalanche Call Up Willsie From AHL

Colorado Brings Back Forward Brian Willsie For Another Chance at the NHL

The NHL's Colorado Avalanche recalled forward Brian Willsie from Lake Erie of the AHL on Saturday so that he would be available if needed in the game scheduled on Saturday night against the Detroit Red Wings. Willsie is the Lake Erie Monsters' captain who has scored 6 points in 9 games in the AHL this season. The 31 year old forward is second in goals scored, and he ranks third in total points for the Monsters. This is the second time he will get an opportunity to take the ice for the Avalanche. Last season he played in 42 games for the Avalanche, but he only managed to score four total point during that time period.

The move to bring Willsie up from the AHL will have zero influence on the sportbooks' betting line odds on the Avalanche now, or at any time in the near future. The Avalanche are already on a roll this season winning 8 of their first 11 games earning them the top spot in the Northwest division standings. The addition of Willsie is a sure bet to be a precautionary measure taken in order to provide some depth at the forward position in the event that the team were to suffer any key injuries. They really have no other use for the services of the mediocre talents of Willsie.
