Sacramento's Leading Scorer Has Hairline Fracture In Wrist
The Sacramento Kings announced Thursday that their star guard and leading scorer Kevin Martin has a hairline fracture in his left wrist. An MRI that was taken on Thursday revealed that Martin has a non displaced hairline fracture of the navicular bone in his left wrist and that treatment options to deal with the injury have not yet been decided upon. However , should Martin require surgery in order to correct the problem, then the Kings will be a sure bet to be without their top player for a significant portion of the 2009-2010 NBA season.
Martin is the one shining light on last year's worst franchise in the NBA who had a record of 17-65. The sportsbooks' betting odds had the Kings picked as being one of the worst teams in the NBA again this season, and so far they have held true in the their prediction as the Kings have lost four of the first five games they have played thus far despite Martin averaging 30.6 points per game. The future already looks dim for the Kings as they face a huge challenge at being competitive team in the league this season, and if they were to lose Martin for any extended period of time, they would be a sure bet to have their season be over before it has really even begun.
