Oklahoma State Star Receiver Finished With College Football

Cowboys' Dez Bryant Decides To Enter The 2010 NFL Draft

Oklahoma State Cowboys' star wide receiver Dez Bryant has decided to forgo his senior season at OSU to enter the 2010 NFL draft instead. The news came Thursday after the NCAA rejected OSU's final appeal to get Bryant reinstated from being suspended for lying about a meeting he had with former NFL great Deion Sanders. Bryant had sat out five games while the NCAA investigated the incident which Bryant admitted that he had lied about and then later apologized for. Bryant told ESPN late Thursday that since the NCAA had made their final ruling, which would not allow him to return to action for the Cowboys until next September, he would prefer to move on from the disappointment and enter the 2010 NFL draft instead.

The decision by the NCAA to refuse to reinstate Bryant has a definite negative impact on the betting odds of the Cowboys continued offensive success during his absence. Not only will they lose a huge impact player for the rest of this season thus affecting their potential ability to remain a BCS Bowl contender, but it will also definitely affect their offensive passing attack next season because Bryant will now leave the school to pursue his NFL career earlier than he might have if he had been reinstated. In light of the recent news regarding Bryant, OSU faces a huge challenge to find a replacement receiver of his caliber which is a sure bet to be all but impossible for them to be able to pull off.
