The 2009 NFL Draft Grades-Best and Worst.

Top Draft Team

Philadelphia Eagles usually have a so-so draft, but nothing over the top like 2009. The Eagles started out huge by trading up and landing talented WR Jeremy Maclin out of Missourri. Before the draft kicked off the birds traded the number 28th pick to the Bills for Pro Bowl lineman Jason Peters giving D Mac some much need help along with free agent signing Stacy Andrews. The Eagles then landed another offensive weapon in RB LeSean McCoy out of Pitt who should help carry the load for an aging Brian Westbrook. The Eagles then drafted CB Victor "Macho" Harris an aggressive corner from Virginia Tech and received starting CB Ellis Hobbs for two 5th round draft picks with the Patriots.

Possible Steal-5th round selection Cornelius Ingram out of Florida could be the steal of the draft if he can remain healthy.

Runner Up

The San Francisco 49ers where very close to being the top team if it weren't for the players the Eagles received outside of the draft. The 49ers got a solid first round pick with dynamic WR Michael Crabtree. Crabtree may not have the Howard-Bey or Maclin speed, but had all the tools to be a great WR in the NFL. Third round steal RB Glen Coffee out of Alabama should help easy the load for Frank Gore. Many grade the 49ers poorly for picking LB Scott McKillop in the 5th round, but we feel he is a steal for his knack of getting to the ball. McKillop should be another great special team's player that may get a chance to break in with the 49ers at line backer.

Possible Steal-No doubt big safety Curtis Taylor could become a quality NFL player.

Worst Draft Team

The Oakland Raiders passed on Michael Crabtree and Jeremy Maclin and took the third/forth rated WR Darrius Heyward-Bey out of Maryland in an early 1st round draft shocker. On a positive note Howard-Bey has burning speed and can take the ball to the end zone for Davis and should not be a let down. The reason the Raiders get a failing grade comes after the first pick. DE Matt Shaughnessy seems like a huge stretch for a 3rd round pick especially after spending a 2nd on a so-so rated safety in Michael Mitchell. 4th round pick Louis Murphy should see some playing time along with Heyward-Bey, but will need some time to develop into a NFL player. Overall not much value coming from a draft one would think the Raiders would need being fruitful.

Possible Steal- Oregon State LB Slade Norris is undersized, but had lots of talent and could develop nicely into a NFL playmaker.
