Looks like some of our hunches came true for this free agent holiday season. Soon after we published "Report One" Philadelphia made good on our prediction. New general manager Ruben Amaro signed shorts stop Raul Ibanez to a three year deal worth $31.5 million. Philly fans understand Ibanez's signing means Pat Burrell's days are done in a Phillies uniform.
Amaro again made quick work re-signing Jamie Moyer (baseballs version of father time) and free agent Chan Ho Park to a two and one year deal respectively. Park posted a 3.40 ERA last season in 54 appearances for the Dodgers. The NL East should prove to be a formidable division to contend with in 2009.
A.J. Burnett (Blue Jays # 2 in 2008) signed with the New York Yankees to the tune of 85 million making GM Brian Cashman's job the easiest in baseball. Is Manny next?
Seriously, how is Rafael Furcal still not signed? The latest talk circles around him either signing in LA or Oakland.
Many more top tier free agents are available for this year's free agent market. Some of these include Adam Dunn, Derek Lowe, Mark Teixeira, Brad Penny, Milton Bradley, Ken Griffey JR, and Manny Ramirez.
