In April's first article "Fast and Furious" players like Detroit's Miguel Cabrera, Toronto's Adam Lind, and New York's Nick Swisher got off to a great start in the AL.
The National Leagues was represented by the Marlins Emilio Bonifacio, the Cardinals Albert Pujols and the Cincinnati Reds Joey Votto.
All of these fast and furious players helped impact their respective teams in terms of early production and helped fantasy players get a leg up on their competition.
Time for Take 2 and see who has the hot bats leading into June.
One can't overlook the production coming from the Bronx Bombers as of late. A big reason the Yankees are winning is due to the outstanding hitting of talented first baseman Mark Teixeira. Teixeira is leading the American League with 18 home runs. Which begs the question, is this an indicator that the big first baseman will have another huge year like 2005? In that year he hit 43 homers and had 144 RBI's for Texas Rangers. Only time will tell, but if he stays healthy and he continues to hit well, the answer is yes.
Canadian Justin Morneau steps over guys like Carlos Pena (17) who have hit more home runs and RBI's. The reason for the leap is due to Morneau hitting the heck out of the ball with 73 hits leading into June. The Minnesota Twins 1st baseman is hitting .329 with 15 home runs and 52 RBI's. Impressive numbers from a guy not many people outside of Minnesota or the AL West talks about. Morneau was named the AL MVP in 2006 and has been impressive in his seven short seasons in the majors.
Dominican Republic's Nelson Cruz has been outstanding hitting .291 with 17 home runs and 42 RBI's for the Texas Rangers. Another impressive Oakland A's farm player who was originally signed by the Mets, Cruz was acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers in 2006 and is now playing full time for the Rangers. The talented right fielder hit 38 home runs and 99 RBI's in triple A Oklahoma during last year's 2008 season.
Other AL hitters looking good leading into June include,; Boston's Jason Bay (16), Toronto's Aaron Hill (13) and Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria (13).

Without a doubt the National League's best hitter is San Diego Padres Adrian Gonzalez. Gonzalez is leading the majors with 22 home runs and is batting .281 with 43 RBI's. The San Diego native has been impressive hitting 119 home runs and 368 RBI's in 6 extremely short seasons. Gonzalez has really improved his game after being drafted ahead of Alex Rodriguez in 1993. Gonzales is having a stellar 2009 season that should see him exceed his best career numbers so far.
At 37 years of age, Raul Ibanez should be winding down his baseball career, but the Pat Burrell replacement is hitting like a 28 year old slugger in his prime. The fighting Phillies are in first place because of the production of Raul Ibanez who has hit 19 home runs and 54 RBI's this season. The long time Seattle Mariner is currently batting .329 and has made most Philly fans forget Pat Burrell in left field.
Albert Pujols is One of the original fast and furious stand outs and is still crushing the ball. Pujols has already amassed 18 home runs and 51 RBI's this season and proves he is the most consistent power hitter in baseball. In fact, the Cardinals star player has already hit 337 home runs, 1028 RBI's with a .334 career batting average. Another Dominica Republic player Albert Pujols won the National League Rookie of the Year in 2001 and has made the all star game 7 times, with impressive numbers from a baseball player just getting into the prime of his career.
Other NL hitters looking solid leading into June include,; Milwaukee's Prince Fielder (15), Milwaukee's Ryan Braun (12) and Philadelphia's Ryan Howard (17).
