MLB Free Agency Is Heating Up!

MLB Free Agency is heating up with some of baseball's top players up for grabs!

They say "it starts with pitching," and this year's group of free-agent hurlers is deep.

Some lucky GM will get to spend enormous amounts of money on big-named players like A.J. Burnett and CC Sabathia, both of which are linked to the New York Yankees.

Big time teams like the New York Mets are looking to rebuild a crumbling bullpen, which hurt them the last two consecutive years. Mets are said to be looking hard at closer Francisco Rodriguez, even though they still owe Billy Wagner $10.5 million in 2009.

Other relieves looking for work include Brian Fuentes, Juan Cruz, and Kerry Wood.

The Jake Peavy sweepstakes, which now include the Cubs are still ongoing, without a deal inked between L.A. and Atlanta. Hot pitchers like Derek Lowe and "The Big Unit" are still available for a price.

Gaining a lot of attention this week is free-agent outfielder Ken Griffey Jr.

Free agents that make GM's drool include hitters like Many Ramirez, Mark Teixeira, and shortstop Rafael Furcal. In fact, Furcal is said to be signing soon with the Oakland A's.

Other sluggers to keep an eye on are Adam Dunn, Milton Bradley, Pat Burrell, and Jason Giambi.

Lastly, old timers like John Smoltz and Tom Glavine could be a cheap option considering recent injuries and a lack of production. Mike "Moose" Mussina and Andy Pettitte may finally be hanging it for good.

So keep your eyes open for what team improves and what teams lacks a splash in this year's free agent market.
