Philadelphia Must Make a Move

Running back Brian Westbrook led the Eagles with 90 sensational receptions in 2007 followed by receiver Kevin Curtis catching 77. The Philadelphia Eagles finished the year ranked a respectable 10th in receiving.

With the most productive Philly wide receiver out in Kevin Curtis and opposing defenses getting wise to Westbrook's abilities you must assume the Eagles will make a move.

Will the Birds make a run at unhappy contract holders Chad Johnson or Anquan Boldin?

Andy Reid says no, but logic would say yes.

Chad Johnson caught 93 passes for 1440 yards and 8 TD last year while Boldin caught 71, for 853 yards and 9 TD's. Either receiver would compliment the Philadelphia Eagles team and make McNabb's job much easier.

Can the Eagles win on what the have now?

It would be difficult in a West Coast Offense that lacked multiple receiving threats. The answer is no they can not. Reggie Brown's numbers were solid in the second half of the 2007 season with 61 receptions for 780 yards and 4 TD's. However, name one receiver after Brown who had more then 25 receptions for more then 267 yards and 3 TD's?

None and that's not going to win a tough NFC East.

Philadelphia fans everywhere are facing the truth. Kevin Curtis is out with a sports hernia injury that required surgery. It's a common foe to the Philadelphia faithful. Number 5 faced the injury in 2005 and fought a tough battle to get back to his old self as did L J Smith last year. Expect the more of the same from speedster Curtis.
