Ryuji Imada is PGA's Big Surprise in 2008

May 28, 2008

Sitting third on top of the PGA leader board is Ryuji Imada just behind Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson. The 31-year-old player from Japan has turned a lot of heads after this year's AT&T Classic win. In fact, Imada's strong play has been evident with three top-five showings this year, including the PODS Championship, Buick Invitational and Northern Trust Open. Solid putting and a consistent all-around game have kept the Japanese golfer in the mix and helped him post solid earnings this year at $2,312,646. Ryuji, a four-year PGA pro and a University of Georgia Alum should be watched closely and could certainly improve with time.

Ryuji Imada will tee up this week at the Memorial Tournament.
